💡 Grant Writing Tip: Grant and Academic Writing Podcasts
We all need a break from staring at our screens from time to time, and a great way to use those breaks to help your grant writing and fund your research is to listen to a podcast! Below are some of our team’s favorites:
Hanover Research’s Grant Rant
A favorite of members of our team, Hanover Research regularly posts episodes that provide insider tips for different funding agencies and opportunities. More recently, they have been producing episodes on federal funding updates that summarize critical points relevant to the research community.
NIH’s All About Grants
If you are in a field that is funded by The National Institutes of Health or are just interested in learning more about the agency, then definitely make some time to list to the NIH All About Grants podcast. Their episodes cover updates on different funding opportunities, help for preparing NIH proposals, and navigating the NIH agency’s funding landscape.
University of Melbourne’s Let’s Talk Sci Comm
Good grant writing takes clear communication, and a common challenge for academics is translating complex ideas into language for any audience. If you’re looking to improve how you communicate about your research through writing, presenting, on social media, etc., then be sure to check out this podcast by the University of Melbourne.
Scholar's Voice® Podcast
One of the biggest challenges for academics is fitting in writing time amongst all other obligations and expectations. This podcast was created with womxn and nonbinary professors in mind, but the topics discussed focus on work-life balance and strategies for academic writing that apply to everyone.
